Surge Tank

Client: Mining Centinela (Ex-Antucoya)
Delivery Date: April 2014
Location: Antofagasta, Chile

•Engineering client requires a compensation system ”water hammer” at Antucoya Mine.

•EATHISA accepted the challenge to design, build and implement this system with not setbacks up today since commissioning.

•This “Surge Tanks” corresponds to a bank of two vertical steel tanks with 12.5 m3 “bladders” of “natural rubber and neoprene”.

•We solved complex conditions such as:

•Using natural rubber neoprene with pressure variations of bar 45 without breaking.

•Chemical composition of water with sulfates himself.

•Vertical configuration and momentums, resulting from loads /impulsive shock.
