The Puente Aranda concrete plant, owned by the Holcim company, had a rainwater harvesting system, which where taken to a sedimentation plant to remove the entrained solid particles and reuse the water. However, when the rainfall was very high, they had to discharge the water to the storm drains in the area.
For this reason, the implementation of a treatment system that allowed the removal of excess suspended solids present in the water was requested.
It was implemented from a dissolved air flotation (DAF) system, together with a previous physical chemical treatment, with a tube flocculator, chemical dosing system and pH control.
